To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Revenue Cycle Supervisor opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of supervisory / management experience.
  • Proven experience in healthcare billing and coding required; Medicaid experience is preferred; vision hardware billing experience is a plus. Quick question for you - click here
  • Medical billing certification and experience with governmental compliance and HIPAA preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including:
    • Experience with accounting and/or medical billing system software. Quick question for you - click here
    • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word and Outlook.

    • Strong and accurate keyboarding and 10-key skills.

This is a day-shift, hybrid position, currently. Team members are working both in-office and remotely. You'll work in-office (2 days) and remotely (3-days). Reporting to the Director of Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning, you will lead and manage a team whose primary duty is to process accurate information for medical billing and receivables and to collect outstanding balances. You will provide oversight of the full electronic billing process. You will review medical billing codes for accuracy, oversee the regular reconciliation of account balances between two systems, resolve payment and payment application issues, and perform periodic reporting and various administrative duties. In addition, you will oversee the distribution of monthly statements, manage HIPAA compliance and work closely with the Director of Contract Management to manage all government-related licensure and compliance requirements for large volume customers. Your specific tasks will include:
  • Providing daily oversight to ensure the Billing team is monitoring denials on all accounts, resubmitting claims that have been incorrectly denied, taking corrective action to minimize future denials, and escalating unresolved issues to the relevant department or entity.
  • Performing the reconciliation of all databases to ensure that both systems are accurately maintained and kept in synchronization. Directing the team in the investigation and timely resolution of variances.
  • Leading and guiding the team through individual coaching and mentoring, conducting department task meetings to provide clear expectations, influencing future trends, and clearly communicating action plans and project milestones to other departments.
  • Ensuring all electronic invoicing is completed on a timely basis through the correct channels. Liaising with the IT department to confirm all data is being correctly gathered and processed for all billing and other issues. Verifying correct protocols are applied for 837 billing and 835 payment advices. Evaluating, using clearing agents where direct access for electronic billing is not possible or is preferable.
  • Providing direct continual monitoring of accounts and collection efforts; placing accounts on hold as necessary. Reviewing credit limits as necessary. Working with Customer Service to ensure that all credits are authorized and correctly posted to accounts on a timely basis. Overseeing and reviewing month-end reporting to include analysis of past due accounts and significant events and changes in account balances.
  • Ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are documented and followed. Initiating projects to improve systems and procedures. Reviewing current state processes utilizing technology to make improvements, and manage necessary documentation for governmental compliance (including, but not limited to, HIPAA).
  • Building a positive collaborative environment. Developing, coaching and mentoring the Billing team to be responsive and proactive on all tasks.
  • Assisting with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking and leading the team to improve metrics.
