To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Technical Manager opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s or master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or another related field. Quick question for you - click here
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing, including building and/or leading teams. Optical industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience in process engineering and data analytics, or another knowledge-management-related field. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with email, LMS and maintenance applications, along with the ability to learn new software as needed.
  • Project management experience.

Reporting to the General Manager, your primary focus of this position is to manage the technical team and establish quality standards by implementing standard practices for the department. You'll oversee the Training Manager, process engineering, Quality and Optician, and work across teams.

A sampling of your specific responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the training program, process engineering, quality, and the staff Optician, employee development, continuous improvement, and day-to-day support of production processes.
  • Manage employee development, including identifying opportunities and planning development schedules for all department employees.
  • Support improvement, innovation, and equipment efficiencies. You'll address preventative maintenance, continuous education, quality program evaluation and improvement. Quick question for you - click here
  • Manage quality programs, investigate repetitive quality failures, and assume responsibility for customer quality issues and feedback.
  • Lead all quality investigations, working with the Operations team to identify the root cause and institute solutions. You'll participate actively in testing, analysis, and remediation plans.
  • Manage Breakage Analysts on all shifts.
  • Assume responsibility for evaluating and providing reports on all customer complaints concerning quality. You'll meet with Customer Service monthly to analyze customer returns.
  • Provide the voice to the customer on all quality issues.
  • Gain familiarity with the Essilor Workstream program and establish programs to support the initiative.
  • Manage continuous improvement projects, as designated by General Manager.
